 Based on OP's income, I'm wondering if she is a corporate lawyer or something, and her husband may be in a field that is against those corporate interests. For example, if she is a lawyer for oil and gas and he works for environmental non profits. This would make the most sense where husband is at a NFP and she’s at a for profit niche industry.
